Project Case Study

The Brief

Mr Kottu Grand serves Sri Lankan street food. Kottu is an impulse purchase decided in seconds — and usually late. The creative had one job: trigger the craving and make ordering the obvious next step.

The Approach

  • Heat as the whole palette. Yellow and charred black, lifted from the food itself. A kottu feed should look like a hot plate before a single word is read.
  • Three words for the positioning. Spicy. Tasty. Addictive. Full stops instead of commas, so it reads as a claim rather than a list.
  • Steam and char in the photography. Close, warm, shot so the texture of the chop is visible. Nobody orders kottu from a tidy image.
  • Hand-brush type against clean sans. Energy where it sells, legibility where it informs.
  • The service promise, always visible. Delivery, authentic Sri Lankan flavours, fast service — reduced to three icons, because a hungry scroller will not read a paragraph.
  • Cultural specificity kept. Sinhala sits in the logo and the copy uses local reference points. The dish is regional and the creative should sound like it.

The Set

Eight feed placements covering menu heroes, seasonal moments and always-on craving posts, all sharing one visual language.
