Project Case Study

The Brief

Exip works in blockchain. The category has a particular problem: the product is invisible. There is nothing to film, no object to show, and an audience that ranges from deeply technical to completely new to it.

Animation is the only honest answer — you have to build a visual language for something that has no physical form.

The Approach

  • A visual metaphor held throughout. Once blocks, chains and flows are established as the vocabulary, every later idea can build on it instead of introducing a new abstraction.
  • Complexity revealed in order. The script adds one concept at a time. Blockchain explainers usually fail by showing the whole system at once, which loses everyone.
  • Motion carrying the logic. How elements connect and move is the explanation — direction of travel, sequence, what depends on what.
  • Confidence in the finish. Fintech and crypto audiences are unusually alert to anything that looks amateur, because the category has a trust problem to begin with.
